TTAADC poll: TIPRA Chairman confident on big win

AGARTALA: April 07 2021: Chairman of TIPRA Motha party Maharaja Pradyot Kishore Manikya Wednesday ushered hope that there will be no violence or untoward incident on day of counting votes in election to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC). The election to the 28-member council was held Tuesday peacefully barring stray incidents, and the counting of votes will be taken up on April 10.
The royal scion appreciated the voters for turning up in large numbers at the polling stations.
He however complained that the outsiders had trooped in many polling booths under Kathalia-Mirza, Killa-Bagma, Takarjala-Jampuijala and Amtali-Golaghati constituencies. This sort of behaviour of a few political parties vitiated environment and demand condemnation, he stated.
Pradyot led a team to meet the state election commissioner to lodge some complaints and request the commission to ensure peace and calm at the counting centres on April 10. He also demanded adequate deployment of security forces.
Maharaja asserted that he is very much optimistic of TIPRA’s ‘big win’ in the TTAADC.
