AGARTALA, September 24, 2024: The Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha announced plans to establish a second rubber park in Santirbazar, South Tripura District. This decision was made due to the state's favourable industrial development environment and its growing status as a significant investor destination.
Chief Minister spoke at the inauguration of the two-day "Tripura Rubber Conclave-2024" held here Monday. The event was jointly organized by the Industries and Commerce Department and the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII).
Entrepreneurs and industrialists in attendance at the conclave shared their experiences and insights. During his speech, Dr Saha highlighted that Tripura ranks second in India in rubber production, with nine percent of the country's rubber being produced in the state.
Chief Minister highlighted state's abundant natural resources, which provide opportunities for various industries. The second rubber park will be located in Shantirbazar following the already established Bodhjungnagar park.
The state is also actively working towards creating an industrial-friendly environment by developing industrial areas, food parks, and bamboo parks. The Tripura government is also focused on attracting investors in sectors such as rubber, bamboo, and food processing with a strong emphasis on creating an industrial-friendly environment.
