AGARTALA, April 25, 2025: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha Friday stressed the need for scientific construction of drains to quickly drain water accumulated in Agartala city during heavy rains at a meeting held at the Secretariat's video conference hall. The meeting discussed advance preparations for the rainy season, improvement of the city's parking system and other development plans.
Agartala Smart City Limited CEO Shailesh Kumar Yadav presented a pictorial report on the city's drainage system, the current status of water drainage pumps, and the implementation of other development plans, including the city's parking system.
Dr Saha directed steps to keep electronic traffic signals operational and well-maintained and directed officials to construct a foot-over steel bridge on the national highway at the Ramthakur College intersection in the Badharghat area. He also directed the CEO of Agartala Smart City Limited to work on a combined project for improving the drainage and parking systems of Agartala city.
Traffic Superintendent Kanta Jangir discussed various initiatives taken to improve the city's traffic system and future plans.
