Tripura police make significant seizure of Yaba tablets

AGARTALA, February 10, 2025: On the second consecutive day, the police made a significant seizure of Yaba tablets after intercepting an oil tanker in Dhalai district Monday. The latest capture took place at Ambassa, the district headquarters.

Acting on a tip-off, officers and personnel from the Ambassa police station stopped an oil tanker truck to conduct a search. During the search, they discovered 9 lakh 24 thousand Yaba tablets hidden in the tanker.

The driver and assistant of the vehicle were arrested. The estimated market value of the drugs is Rs 28 crore.

Yesterday, the police also seized a multi-crore-worth consignment of Yaba tablets in Dharmanagar, located in north Tripura. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has praised the recent seizures.
