AGARTALA, November 28, 2024: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha Thursday issued a warning against attacks on minority Hindus in Bangladesh and stressed the need to protect them. He made this statement at the conclusion of the 7-day ‘Namo Yuva Yatra’ in Tripura Thursday.
Dr Saha also highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s belief that unity among youth is crucial for national development and strength. He participated in a large bike rally to support youth engagement and declared a goal to make Tripura a drug-free state.
In response to criticisms from opposition parties such as CPIM and Congress, who claim that the BJP lacks grassroots support, the Chief Minister pointed to recent electoral victories in states like Maharashtra and Haryana as evidence of the BJP’s strength.
He urged the youth not to align with the opposition, but to join the BJP as its membership drive continues. Dr Saha emphasized that the BJP operates based on democratic principles and criticized opposition parties for engaging in disruptive politics.
He reiterated the importance of protecting Sanatan Dharma in light of the current situation of Hindus in Bangladesh, stating that it is an international issue that requires attention. The Chief Minister also mentioned that the state government is closely monitoring the situation and has instructed the DGP to prevent cross-border infiltration.
He lashed out at the opposition parties for remaining silent on the Bangladesh issue, accusing them of only speaking out on other international matters.
