The two-day state U-19 Chess Tournament concludes
Devankur Banerjee and Arshiya Das emerged as the top players

AGARTALA, August 11, 2024: The two-day state U-19 Chess Tournament concluded Sunday with Devankur Banerjee and Arshiya Das emerging as the top players. Banerjee, representing NSRCC, remained undefeated and claimed the boys' division title with four and a half points out of five rounds.
Sakya Sinha Modak and Divya Jyoti Sarkar secured second and third place respectively, with four points each.
In the girls' category, Tripura's Arshiya Das dominated with a perfect score of four points in four rounds. Ankita Sarkar took second place with three points while Shreyshi Saha, Ekanthika Sarkar and Adrija Saha tied for fifth place with two and a half points each.
The top two players from each division will advance to the National Chess Tournament. Nirmal Das was conductor of the event.
