REGIONAL, April 01, 2024: Subedar Thanseia, a 102-year-old veteran of the British Indian Army during World War II, had passed away. He played a significant role in the crucial 'Battle of Kohima', which led to victory for the allied forces against Japanese aggression.
The war veteran, hailing from Mizoram state, passed away on March 31, army statement Monday informed.
The Army expressed its grief and paid tribute to Subedar Thanseia, a World War II veteran of the Indian Army's Assam Regiment. It assured that his legacy will always be remembered and will continue to inspire the Indian Army, Assam Regiment and the people of the North East.
