Residents given betel nut saplings at a remote village
25 beneficiaries have received 3900 saplings, 150 each

AGARTALA, August 16 2022: Under the Livelihood and income generation project for the rural farmers, the team of Yuva Vikash Kendra (YVK) with support of Finolex Industries Limited’s CSR partner Mukul Madhav Foundation Tuesday organised saplings distribution at Bhadra Miship Para under Jirania Rd Block in west Tripura. Along with the saplings the donors also supported some financial support to the farmer for the initial expenditure.
The event was led by Debashis Majumder, President of YVK and Pinku Das, Managing Trustee YVK in presence of Dr Mandira Chakraborti, In-charge Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Belbari West Tripura and others. Dr Chakraborti appreciated the joint steps of YVK, FIL & MMF regarding to make self-sufficient to the farmers.
All the farmers expressed great happiness while receiving the saplings by the hands of attended guests and others.
25 beneficiaries have received 3900 saplings 150 each. It is mentionable that all the farmers were trained for two days on mixed fruit and vegetables gardening along with betel nut plantation.
The resource persons also trained the beneficiaries regarding land preparation, uses of manure/fertilizer (organic), plantation, caring and protection before distribution. Anyway, the farmers decided to plant their respective saplings on the land of their possession.
According to the Project, YVK hopeful that these saplings will contribute to earn some money after 4-5 years later which will be helpful for the farmers to make them self-reliance. Earlier under the initiative of YVK, FIL & MMF same has been implemented for the 26 beneficiaries at Devipur ADC Village under Santir Bazar subdivision with the aim of income generation to the farmers.
The organisation is hopeful that such encouraging activity will be held in future.
