Proposal on the table to export power from Tripura to Nepal
Tripura has been exporting 100 MW of power daily to Bangladesh

AGARTALA, October 25, 2025: Tripura Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath recently announced plans to export power from the state to Nepal with a meeting in New Delhi scheduled for the central government to make the final decision. If this happens, Nepal would be the second foreign country importing electricity from the state.
Tripura has been exporting 100 MW of power daily to Bangladesh for its support in establishing the Palatana power plant in south Tripura.
He also declared a proposal to install solar photovoltaic systems on office building roofs to cover electricity needs.
