PM condoles demise of former US President Jimmy Carter

GLOBAL, December 30, 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences Monday for the passing of former United States President Jimmy Carter. In a social media post, the Prime Minister praised Carter as a statesman with great vision.
He also acknowledged his tireless efforts towards global peace and harmony, and recognized his significant contributions in strengthening India-US relations, which have left a lasting impact.
James Earl Carter Jr, born on October 1, 1924, served as the 39th president of the United States from 1977 to 1981. A member of the Democratic Party, Carter previously held positions in the Georgia State Senate from 1963 to 1967 and as the 76th governor of Georgia from 1971 to 1975.
He held the record for being the longest-lived president in U.S. history and was the first to reach the age of 100.
