NATIONAL, July 04, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was Friday awarded the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, acknowledging the honour on behalf of 140 crore Indians. He met with Trinidad and Tobago's President Christine Kangaloo at the President's House in Port of Spain.
Modi also announced that the sixth generation of Indian origin citizens in Trinidad and Tobago will be eligible for Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cards allowing them to live and work in India without restrictions. He congratulated Trinidad and Tobago for becoming the first Caribbean nation to adopt UPI, stating its benefits for both countries.
Prime Minister will also visit Argentina, marking the first bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister in 57 years.
