AGARTALA, May 12 2022: A jumbo team of parliamentary standing committee on housing and urban affairs is currently on a visit in Tripura to oversee implementation of Agartala Smart City and housing projects. The team led by Jagdambika Pal paid a visit to the Light House urban housing project near the Agartala integrated check post late Thursday afternoon. 

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb before leaving for New Delhi met the parliamentary standing committee members at his office. He said he held discussions at length on topics relevant to development of Tripura.

The parliamentary standing committee on housing and urban affairs has 21 members from the Lok Sabha and eight from the Rajya Sabha.

Unlike previous visits of parliamentary teams, the visiting delegation has taken accommodation in a private 5-star hotel here.
