One ‘Tripura’ tribe man killed, two hurt in mine blast
Incident occurred in Bangladesh’s Chittagong Hill Tracts

AGARTALA, May 17 2023: Strife in Bangladesh’s restive Chittagong Hill Tracts claimed life of one and injured two Wednesday. One of the injured persons has been a member of Army which is hugely deployed to contain militancy in the hills.
Reports said the casualties occurred at Sloupi Para of Remkripangsa in Ruma sub-district of the CHT due to landmine blast. Jewel Tripura, 27, was killed and Abraham Tripura, 35, injured in the explosion.
A soldier who was not named by the authorities was critically hurt and he lost an arm. He is being treated at the Combined Military Hospital in Chittagong, nearest medical facility of the army.
The Tripura tribe victims were residents of Basiram Para and the incident occurred at Sloupi Para which led to confusion.
