REGIONAL, August 03, 2024: The Nagaland Government has strongly condemned the ‘death threats’ issued by an insurgent group to a local businessman Saturday. Minister and government spokesperson KG Kenye stated that the issue is being taken seriously and appropriate actions are being taken.
The NSCN (Khango) faction has reportedly threatened K Rűlho, the owner of M/S KKB Rűlho, after their extortion attempt failed. Kenye informed that an FIR has been promptly registered against the NSCN (Khango) and its members for this criminal act.
He also mentioned that the State Government had earlier made it clear that any form of threat or coercion, whether by ceasefire factions or others, is considered a crime and will be dealt with according to the law. He reiterated this stance and assures the people of Nagaland that peace and tranquility will be maintained for the sake of economic development and prosperity.
Kenye also stated that the State Government has raised the issue with the Chairman of the Ceasefire Monitoring Group and Ceasefire Supervisory Board to ensure that the NSCN (Khango) and other groups strictly adhere to the ceasefire ground rules.
