Night curfew to be imposed in Kohima from May 5

KOHIMA, May 04 2021: In pursuance to Home Department’s order dated May 3 and as decided at the Kohima District Task Force meeting held Tuesday, the Deputy Commissioner and Chairman DTF Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie has imposed night curfew in Kohima District on all days starting May 5 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The curfew will remain in force until further order. However, during the curfew hours medical, emergency and essential services, including pharmacies, movement of goods vehicles through goods carriers/trucks will be permitted.
Any person violating the order will be penalized as per the provision of the Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005 beside legal action under Section 188 of the IPC.
The Order was issued in view of the rapid surge in the number of persons infected by Covid-19 and with a view to curtail the transmission of the disease.
DC Kohima warns
Deputy Commissioner &Chairman, District Task Force, Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie has ordered the closure of all Hostels vide order No. DCK/CON/COVID-19/2020-21/PL (Vol-In/WR-024 dated April 29 2021. However, it was brought to the notice that some hostels are still operating despite the order.
Therefore, the DC has warned any person found violating the order to be penalised as per the provision of the Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005 beside legal action under Section 188 of the IPC and instructed all the concerned to comply with immediate effect.
