New skill development course to enhance employability

REGIONAL, June 28, 2024: Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd (DCBL), has introduced a new course on Domestic Data Entry Operator at its Common Service Lab (CSL) in Lumshnong, Meghalaya. The course aims to provide rural youth with essential employability skills, particularly for women, in the remote East Jaintia Hills district.
The inaugural batch of 28 youths, 75% of whom are women, will undergo free, high-quality training. The skills acquired will be expected to meet the demands of growing business ventures in the town.
The Digital Literacy course also celebrated its 12th batch, with certificates distributed to 20 youths. DBF said it remains committed to promoting skill development and sustainable livelihoods among rural communities in Meghalaya and the broader North Eastern region.
The Common Service Lab (CSL) focuses on digital literacy, empowering students to enhance their digital and financial skills, preparing them for success in the digital age and improving their employability.
Since its establishment in Lumshnong, the CSL has played a crucial role in offering Digital and Financial Literacy courses, aiming to narrow the digital gap among young people.
