Monyakshu Village declared as “No Plastic Zone”
Aimed to eliminate single-use plastic materials, check pollution

REGIONAL, October 07, 2024: Monyakshu Village in Nagaland Monday held a joint declaration programme as 'No Plastic Zone' and launched the Green Community Club. The programme aimed to eliminate single-use plastic materials, reduce waste foster sustainability protect water sources, soil, and wild life from plastic pollution, and promote eco-friendly alternatives.
The village's citizens demonstrated their commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development, creating a cleaner, greener and healthier village for future generations. The event was graced by SDO (Civil) In-charge of Monyakshu Hq, Wiridin, NCS, who called for mass participation and support.
Forest Range Officer Tobu, Tongkem Konyak, appreciated the initiative and encouraged the community to conserve wild life and biodiversity. The Green Community Club was introduced by Deputy Director, IPR, S. Hongpi Konyak, and Medical Officer, District Hospital Mon, Dr S Nyamnyei Konyak.
The programme was chaired by President MVSU, E Moba Konyak, and welcomed by W Kanlong, VC Chairman Monyakshu. The programme included sapling planting and plastic waste segregation.
