AIZAWL, October 11, 2024: On the occasion of RBI's 90th anniversary of public service, key officials from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in Mizoram called on Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati Friday to discuss the bank's achievements and functioning in the region. Kambhampati spoke on the need for a proactive approach in educating the public on effective banking practices and the benefits they can derive.
He urged bankers to create useful banking services to help those who lack financial resources with loans and schemes designed to help them grow and to monitor the impact of Financial Literacy Campaigns.
The meeting highlighted the bank's ongoing efforts in Mizoram, focusing on financial inclusion and the financial literacy campaign. Attendees mentioned the achievements under the Lead Bank Scheme where they reached 40% of their target in priority sector lending.
The RBI introduced the concept of the Unified Lending Interface (ULI) and plans for its implementation.
