Journalists from NE embark on Media Tour to Maha Kumbh

REGIONAL, January 21, 2025: Fourteen journalists from Northeast India are set to visit Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh 2025, a three-day media tour organised by the Press Information Bureau in collaboration with the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

The delegation represents Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. The mega event, which is rooted in mythology, is expected to host over 45 crore devotees, including 15 lakh international visitors, this year.

The PIB's media tours aim to highlight the festival's spiritual significance, cultural heritage and economic prosperity as well as its role in promoting unity across caste, religion, and culture. The delegation will have the opportunity to report on one of the largest spiritual gatherings in the world.
