India to host the WAVES from February 5 to 9 next year
First-ever global summit to cover entire range of media and entertainment

NATIONAL, September 20, 2024: The Indian government is hosting the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) from February 5 to 9 next. This summit aims to strengthen the country's media and entertainment industry and increase its global influence.
It will be the first-ever global summit to cover the entire range of the media and entertainment sector. Sanjay Jaju, Secretary of Information & Broadcasting Ministry, stated Friday that WAVES will serve as a premier forum for dialogue, trade collaboration and innovation within the evolving media and entertainment industry landscape.
The summit will bring together industry leaders, stakeholders and innovators to explore opportunities, address challenges, attract trade to India and shape the future of the sector.
Jaju promised strict enforcement of measures against piracy in the film industry and assured government support for stakeholders in the gaming industry. The event was also attended by Shifali Kumar, Regional Officer, and Rahul Gowlikar, Executive Officer, from CBFC Hyderabad.
