Programme to honour martyrdom of BSF personnel in 1971 war

AGARTALA, December 13 2021: Good neighbourly relation between India – Bangladesh now reached to its new height and it needs to be preserved through exchanges in fields of culture and sports, said Tripura Information & Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury. He was speaking at the inauguration of Indo-Bangla cultural programme organised by the Border Security Force at Agartala Integrated Check Post (ICP) Monday.
The programme was organised to commemorate the martyrdom of BSF officers and personnel during war of liberation of Bangladesh in 1971 and also to celebrate golden jubilee of the victory.
He opined that the new generation must know all about Bangladesh freedom struggle and India’s contribution to it. He lauded BSF for its contribution to liberation of Bangladesh.
Other dignitaries were in attendance at the programme include MLA Mimi Majumder and Bangladesh Assistant High Commissioner in Agartala Zubaid Hussain.
Inspector General of BSF Baniyal delivered the welcome speech.
Some BSF personnel like Nikhil Chandra Ghosh and Dulal Chowdhury were felicitated for their contribution in Bangladesh liberation.
Artists from India and Bangladesh gave spellbound performances at the programme that followed the inauguration.
