Health top most priority of the state, says Chief Minister
BCG (anti-tuberculosis) vaccination for senior citizens commenced

AGARTALA, February 08, 2024: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has emphasized that the health safety of the younger generation is a top priority for his government. He announced the commencement of BCG (anti-tuberculosis) vaccination for senior citizens.
The Chief Minister launched the state-level Mukhyamantri Sustho Saishob, Sustho Kaishore Abhiyan 6.0, and Adult BCG Vaccination Study at Bishalgarh in Sepahijala district Thursday. Under MSSSKA 6.0, a total of 11.36 lakh children and adolescents (aged 0 to 19 years) in the state will be covered under the scheme.
"Today's children are the future of the country. To ensure their good health, the Mukhyamantri Sustho Saishob, Sustho Kaishore Abhiyan has been launched," said Dr Saha. He highlighted that as part of this campaign, preventive tablets and vaccines will be administered to children and adolescents aged 0 to 19 years.
Approximately 11.36 lakh individuals in the state will be included in this initiative. The campaign was formally started in 2021 and has seen considerable success in the activities of the state's health department since its inception.
Dr Saha highlighted the department's need to prioritize efforts to achieve 100 percent success in this campaign.
