Online domain registration and website monitoring system inaugurated

AIZAWL, May 12 2022: Department of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Government of Mizoram organised Conferment of Government Online Excellence Awards 2021-2022 and Inauguration of online domain registration and website monitoring system at Vanapa Hall, Thursday. Governor Haribabu Kambhampati graced the occasion as the Chief Guest while Robert Romawia Royte, Minister of State for Information & Communication Technology (ICT) was the Guest of Honour.
Technical Report was read by C Lalrinfela, Informatics Officer, ICT Department. The ICT Minister announced name of the state departments who won the Government Online Excellence Awards for 2021-22.
Governor also inaugurated and launched the newly developed application softwares – ‘Online domain registration’ & ‘Website monitoring system’. The programme conculed with vote of thanks proposed from Dr Lalthlamuana, CIO/Joint Secretary, ICT. 
In his inaugural address, Governor Hari Kambhampati lauded the incentivizing effort of the department of ICT. He congratulated all the winning departments and the institutions and urged other 300 plus organisations who have registered their websites under ICT to come forward with a better upgrade, updates and renovations.
Governor stressed on the need for more focus in utilizing IT Enabled services by departments to ease the transactions of business, to ease how they communicate with their clients, to ensure transparency and eradicate corrupt practices. Taking opportunity of addressing large gatherings of the state officials, he gave a frank reminder that the majority target beneficiaries of the state are still unaware of important and beneficial welfare schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
ICT Minister Robert Romawia Royte spoke of the several initiatives taken up by his department in improving the serviceability and accessibilities of the entire state departments through IT-Enable Services under e-Governance. He congratulated the winning departments and he also welcomed all the departments who are in need of the assistance from the ICT department in Web Services and other IT-related services.
While recognizing the usefulness of the Information Technology he also pointed out the unfortunate effects of the misuses of IT especially in the area of Social Media, he warned that IT literacy alone with knowing one’s responsibilities is a dangerous thing as it had affected the lives of many innocent people. He insisted that everyone benefiting from the advancement of IT should be responsible, IT-Educated and should be ethical.
