KOHIMA, October 14 2021: Former Nagaland minister Lhiweshelo Mero has passed away owing to old age complications.
Nagaland Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi has expressed utter condolence over demise of the veteran politician. In a message he opined that contribution of the departed leader to the people of Nagaland in various assignments will be remembered for ever.
The full text of tribute of the Governor is “I am deeply saddened at the demise of Lhiweshelo Mero, former Minister in the State Government on October 13 2021 at Kohima.
Late Lhiweshelo Mero was a visionary leader who, under the most adverse circumstances, worked untiringly and selflessly for building a peaceful and prosperous Nagaland. His contribution to the people of Nagaland in various assignments will be remembered for ever.
In his demise, people of Nagaland have lost a tall and prominent leader.
I on behalf of the people of Nagaland and my own behalf, convey our heartfelt condolences. I pray to God to bestow the needed fortitude to the family members of Lhiweshelo Mero to bear this tragic loss and grant them solace at this hour of enormous pain.
I also pray to God that his soul rest in eternal peace”.
