First Covid-19 patient in Manipur, alert in NE

AGARTALA, March 24, 2020: Alert sounded in NE India after detection of a Covid-19 patient in Manipur. The victim, a 23 year old Cancer medicine researcher, arrived in Imphal from London on March 21.

She and her companion took Air Asia flight to reach Imphal with a halt at Agartala airport.

Health agencies are now locating persons and airlines staffs came in contact with them during their journey.

Specimen examinations at the JNIMS Hospital at Imphal confirmed presence Covid-19 infection in the body of the young woman. Doctors however advised further advanced tests of the patient to know exact stage of ailment.
