AGARTALA, May 21 2022: Former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb could fly to Khowai in western Tripura due to a technical snag in his chopper at the MBB Airport here. He however travelled by surface transport to attend his prefixed programmes in the subdivision.
His scheduled journey by a chopper was cancelled after the pilot noticed a technical fault before he took off. The chopper was still on the ground and he informed ATC about his inability to fly as technical inspection of the helicopter was necessary.
Sources refuted some news reports that claimed former chief minster escaped a mishap.
Biplab Kumar Deb and his accompanying team left airport in vehicles to reach Khowai. One of his close aides said he attended all scheduled public programmes in the subdivision.
The former Chief Minister has been attending programmes and speaking at the public rallies on a daily basis ever since he resigned on May 14 to respect ‘unexpected’ advice of BJP’s central leadership.
