Downward trend of violence incidents in Manipur, says PM
Hailed Amit Shah for his efforts of peace from front by being in the state

NEW DELHI, July 03, 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday focused on the government's efforts to ease the tension in Manipur asserting that Central and State Governments are in discussions with stakeholders to ensure peace and cordiality. He highlighted that the Union Home Minister Amit Shah led the efforts of peace from the front by being in Manipur.
Speaking on the concluding day at Rajya Sabha, Modi touched Manipur which has been reeling under ethnic violence and armed insurgency for almost a year.
Prime Minister Modi in his speech highlighted continuous downward trend of violence incidents in Manipur, stating that schools, colleges and offices are now functioning normally in the state.
He also expressed concern about the current flood situation in Manipur and informed that two companies of NDRF are deployed for flood relief work and the Central Government is working closely with the State Government in relief efforts.
