Development of Janajati people linked to progress of nation: CM

AGARTALA, November 15, 2025: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha stressed the critical importance of uplifting the Janajati community for the overall progress of the state and country during the Janjatiya Gaurav Divas celebrations in Agartala and Khumulwng Saturday. He highlighted the government's commitment led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to listing the development of Janajatis in line with the inclusive vision of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas."
The Chief Minister in his speech noted that no previous Prime Minister has so greatly recognised the contributions of Janajati communities in the freedom struggle, and he spoke about celebrations for Bhagwan Birsa Munda's 150th birth anniversary running from November 15, 2024, to November 15, 2025.
During the events, he announced several government initiatives aimed at the welfare of Janajatis, including the extension of hostel scholarships for students, which will see an increase in funding and bed capacity.
Moreover, he announced plans for a new boys' hostel in Agartala and the installation of solar-powered water purification systems in tribal hostels. Dr Saha reiterated that the progress of the state is inextricably linked to the upliftment of the Janajati community.
