Tripura CM visits Shantirbazar to assess the aftermath of violence
Said government would not spare the perpetrators, met victims

AGARTALA, November 13, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha Thursday visited Shantirbazar in Dhalai district to assess the aftermath of violence during a bandh on October 23. He underlined the need for unity between the Jaati and Janajati communities, stating that such unrest is most unwanted.
Dr Saha described the incident as a conspiracy and stated that he monitored the situation closely, resulting in the arrest of seven accused persons linked to the disturbances. He confirmed that Section 163 of BNS was imposed during the unrest and subsequently lifted on October 31.
The Chief Minister acknowledged the vandalism of shops and attacks on innocent people, and he reassured them the government would not spare the perpetrators. He visited injured individuals in the hospital and promised them necessary assistance.
Responding to requests for increased police presence and relief, he has tasked the District Magistrate with rehabilitation efforts for those affected. A relief package was announced which includes financial aid of Rs 3 lakh for fully damaged properties, Rs 1.5 lakh for severely damaged and Rs 15,000 for partially damaged properties.
The Chief Minister also assured that further financial and medical support would be provided to those sustained injuries.
