Speaker of the Meghalaya Assembly accepted his resignation

REGIONAL, September 08, 2025: Timothy D Shira has tendered his resignation from the post of Deputy Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Monday. The Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Secretariat has made an official announcement to this effect.

It said Speaker of the Assembly has accepted his resignation.

Shira told newsmen that Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma told him to step down.
