Delhi to Leh: Navy’s Sindhu Shikhar Car Rally flagged off
Expedition to raise sentience about India's rich maritime heritage

NATIONAL, June 10, 2024: Navy’s Sindhu Shikhar car rally, from Delhi to Leh and back, was flagged off Monday by VAdm Sanjay Bhalla, the Chief of Personnel, in New Delhi. The main objective of this expedition is to raise awareness about India's rich maritime heritage and promote maritime consciousness in the northern states.
The rally, consisting of 40 naval personnel, will cover a distance of 3637 km over 18 days, passing through remote regions. This expedition is a significant milestone in the Indian Navy's outreach efforts, particularly in the states of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
The team will engage with schools, colleges and NCC units along the way, as well as hold interactions with proud veterans through a veterans' programme in Chandigarh. During these interactions, the team will give presentations on how to join the Indian Navy and inspire young people to join the armed forces.
