Data collection process for all accommodation providers ordered

REGIONAL, July 01, 2025: The sensational murder of Indore-based business executive Raja Raghuvanshi by his enraged newlywed wife Sonam during their honeymoon forced the Meghalaya government to resort to a set of measures to prevent violent recurrence in the tourist hub-hilly state. The SIT of Meghalaya police have already cracked the mystery, arresting main conspirator Sonam and her various collaborators.
The Meghalaya government has now made it mandatory for tourists to hire a guide while trekking in the hills to avoid any unfortunate events. The safety measure is also aimed at making tourists know set rules and restrictions during their adventures and site-seeing.
The Meghalaya Government has mandated an online data collection process for all accommodation providers (hotels, guesthouses, home stays, bed and breakfast establishments) in Meghalaya.
The online process facilitates daily check-in and check-out data recording, including details such as visitor numbers, gender, state/country of origin and identity proof/visa/C-form.

Due to security concerns, all accommodation providers are to obtain a No Objection Certificate.
