CM urges youth to create a mass movement against drug abuse
Said state government took steps to make Tripura a drug free state

AGARTALA, September 21, 2025: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha urged the youth of Tripura to create a mass movement against drug abuse and stated that the state government has taken concerted steps to make Tripura a Nesha Mukt (drug free) state. He was speaking at an event to mark the Namo Yuva Run marathon here Sunday.
He appreciated the BJP Yuva Morcha for organising the event to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 75th birthday celebrations. Dr Saha and senior party functionaries including state President Rajib Bhattacharjee participated in the marathon.
The Chief Minister asserted that around 65% of the population are youths, a massive resource that can be utilised properly to attain the progress and development of the country. He also mentioned that the Prime Minister always seeks suggestions from the people concerning the country's development and progress.
Dr Saha urged the youth to come forward for a mass movement to understand the dangers of addiction and the increasing intensity of destruction. He said that the police and security agencies have launched strict actions since 2018 against the drug menaces.
