CM underlines importance of youth development for growth

He criticised previous governments for not supporting youth

AGARTALA, January 24, 2025: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha Friday underlined the importance of youth development for the country's growth. He criticised the previous governments for not providing adequate support to the youth. 

The Chief Minister launched the Tripura Startup Policy 2024, which is an amendment of the previous version to include IT, agriculture, bamboo, food and other sectors. Dr Saha praised the policy for channelling youth energy and ensuring they receive government support. 

The policy aims to enable young people to achieve new heights, enabling them to become industrialists or entrepreneurs, and tackling unemployment by engaging them from all levels of society. The policy has strong connections with IITs, IIMs, NITs and other central universities of India. 

More than 1.25 lakh bank branches are encouraging youth, ensuring at least one Dalit, one woman and one Indigenous person benefits. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasized the need for innovation and new opportunities for the youth.

Dr Saha also stressed that the country's future growth will be supported by numerous startup policies.
