NATIONAL, January 23, 2025: On the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a special interaction with students in the Central Hall of Parliament in New Delhi Thursday. The students discussed the nation's goal of making India a Developed Nation (Viksit Bharat) by 2047 as well as the importance of the day.
The students also shared their motivations for reducing the nation's carbon footprint, which is part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Prime Minister highlighted the introduction of electric vehicles and buses in India with over 1,200 buses already operating in Delhi.
The PM Suryagarh Yojana was also discussed as a tool to tackle climate change, with solar panels installed on rooftops to produce electricity, eliminating the need to pay electricity bills. The electricity generated could be used to charge e-vehicles, reducing spending on fossil fuels and curbing pollution.
The Prime Minister also explained that any surplus electricity generated at home can be sold to the government for monetary compensation allowing individuals to generate electricity at home and sell it for profit.
