Changtongya Volleyball Association wins open volleyball

KOHIMA, September 21, 2019: In the thrilling final match of 14th Imchaba Master Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy 2019 played at Multi-purpose Sports Complex, Mokokchung, Changtongya Volleyball Association overcame a stiff competition from Sakutemjen Memorial Club, Chungtiayimsen to lift the Trophy.
Gracing the final match as the Chief Patron, Er Limatongdang Jamir, Engineer-in-Chief, NPWD Kohima said that this tournament is a platform for young players to compete with other players and teams, bringing out their best and also to iron out their flaws and at the same time appreciate other players as they compete, "winning or losing in sports is not the end, the thing that matter most is the rich dividends one gets in term of fitness, strength and feeling of wellbeing both physically and mentally."
Sharing a brief life sketch of Lt Imchaba, he said, he was a good teacher, a disciplinarian who also encouraged students in sports activities. He expressed appreciation to all the members of Lt Imchaba Master Trust fund, the organizers of the trophy: Mokokchung District Volleyball Association who have managed to conduct these events successfully since its inception from the year 2002.
Earlier in the programme, Sunrise Youth Fellowship, MTBA Y/D presented a special song “Home of the Soul”. The Patron gave away the trophy and cash prizes to the winning teams and individual award winners. Player of the tournament; Moatemjen( Sakutemjen Memorial Club, Chungtiayimsen) Best Spiker; Bendangtemsu(Changtongya Volleyball Association) Best Setter; Sarilepzung(Changtongya Volleyball Association).
