Centre sanctions Rs 250 crore for development of indigenous people

AGARTALA, August 08, 2025: The meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Friday announced a new component under the existing Central Government Scheme of Special Development Package for Tripura. This allocation especially in Tripura in compliance with the Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) signed by the Government of India and the Government of Tripura with the National Liberation Front of Twipra (NLFT) and All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF).
"The aim of this initiative is to improve the socio-economic condition of vulnerable and marginalized groups who have not received adequate benefits from existing government schemes," Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said on his social media page.
This will be achieved by boosting employment opportunities, providing health services, promoting education and skills training and creating income through livelihood activities for young people and women, chief minister asserted.
