BSF jawans allegedly assault a veterinary doctor
His association demanded an apology from authority

REGIONAL, February 12, 2024: The Meghalaya Veterinary Services Association (MVSA) held an Emergent Central Executive Committee meeting Monday to address the assault of one of its members by personnel of the BSF. The Association strongly condemned the incident, which took place on February 11 at around 12:05 pm in Hawai Tilla of West Jaintia Hills District.
The Association said, two BSF jawans were involved in the assault on Dr Seiboklang Buam. The news of this incident has been widely circulated in both electronic and print media.
During the meeting, the MVSA also passed a resolution to bring this matter to the attention of the highest authority of the BSF in Meghalaya Frontier Headquarter. The Association is deeply concerned about the trauma experienced by their member and demands a written apology from the BSF authorities.
They also urge an assurance that such inhumane and humiliating acts will not occur in the future.
