BSF Inter Frontier Handball Competition opens
The semi-final and final matches will be played on November 11

AGARTALA, November 09 2022: To mark the spirit of sportsmanship and to promote the idea of a healthy lifestyle among ‘Gallant’ Bordermen, the yearly Inter-Frontier Handball Competition 2022-23 is being organized by Ftr HQ BSF Tripura November 9 to 11 at BSF Campus in Agartala’s Salbagan. Sumit Sharan, IG Frontier HQrs Tripura, inaugurated the BSF Inter Handball Competition in the presence of Officers, Sub-ordinate Officers and personnel of the Border Security Force.
The opening ceremony witnessed a grand opening with an oath ceremony followed by a march past by teams under the flag of respective frontiers. During interaction with players Sumit Sharan, IG BSF Tripura Ftr extended best wishes to all players to perform well and use the opportunity to represent at national and international levels.
The Handball teams from 11 Frontiers of BSF are participating in this tournament. A total of 18 matches will be played in this tournament.
The teams divided into four pools will play league matches.
The winning teams from the league match will play the quarter-finals on 10th November. Semi-final and final matches will be played on November 11.
The first match between Tripura Frontier and Meghalaya Frontier was witnessed by senior BSF officers, subordinate officers, jawans and more than 150 spectators. After a tough fight, Tripura Frontier’s team won the match and established their lead in the tournament.
BSF has always encouraged sports and has been actively participating in sporting activities at the national level. Organizing such tournaments increases the feeling of cooperation and working in teams among troops.
