Board exams postponed in Tripura amid covid-19 surge

AGARTALA, May 01 2021: Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) has postponed secondary and higher secondary examinations taking into consideration critical coronavirus situation in the state. TBSE Secretary Dr Dulal Dey made the announcement Saturday.
He said the decision was taken after the ‘examination committee’ recommended postponement of the Madhyamik and + 2 stage examinations in view of alarming surge in pandemic in the country which has also lashed the state. Dr Dey opined that health safety of the students is most important in present situation.
The board examinations were slated to start from May 18. Over 75,000 students were eligible for both sets of exam.
Speaking on the postponement TBSE President Dr Bhabatosh Saha said the next schedule would be made known two weeks prior to commencement of exams. He urged upon the students to remain with their texts and show no laxity in their preparations.
