AGARTALA, May 16, 2024: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha stated Thursday that the BJP is expected to win more seats in West Bengal than it did in the 2019 Lok Sabha election citing strong support for the saffron party among the population. Speaking to reporters Dr Saha mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently emphasised the BJP and NDA's potential to secure victory in over 400 seats this time.
"It's only a matter of time. I have already campaigned in four to five locations in West Bengal and plan to continue with an extensive campaign in the coming days. I am confident that PM Modi's vision will come to fruition as I have witnessed a positive response and significant support from the people, even in West Bengal," he added. Dr Saha asserted that the BJP aims to win 32 out of the 42 seats in West Bengal.
"In the previous Lok Sabha election, we won 18 seats, and this time, we are confident that we will win even more. The opposition is expressing their concerns and making such statements in order to boost the morale of their supporters, as they are feeling intimidated," he explained.
