AGARTALA, April 02, 2024: Former Chief Minister and BJP candidate for the West Tripura Lok Sabha constituency, Biplab Kumar Deb, has continued to criticise alleged dishonest Congress leaders, such as Sudip Roy Barman, for secretly negotiating with the CPI(M) to draw personal gains. Deb has accused Barman of working out a covert deal with communist leaders at the cost of party workers who were subject to atrocities for years.
He has also alleged that thousands of people in the state have been deprived of government benefits and rights during the Left Front government. He has questioned why the Congress-CPIM alliance is seeking votes from these families and why there had been numerous deaths in clashes between these two political parties during their reigns.
Deb has further alleged that terrorism is a tactic used by the communists who demand that supporters of the opposition party vote for them. He has also noted that the previous CPI(M) led left front governments failed to improve the socio-economic living standards of women in the state, while the current BJP-IPFT government has successfully taken steps to make women economically self-reliant.
He criticised the communists for their focus on filling their own pockets under the guise of politics, rather than working for the welfare of the public. Deb has argued that the sincere vision of PM Narendra Modi has led to various development activities in Tripura, with the North Eastern states moving towards mainstream development.
He has called on party workers to set a positive example in the election by focusing on building strong public relations, rather than being overconfident about winning. Other speakers at the event included Yuva Morcha President Sushanta Deb, Sadar District President Ashim Bhattacharya, Mandal President and municipal councilors.
