Big shake in Tripura police: Three Superintendents transferred

AGARTALA, November 04, 2024: Tripura government Monday announced a major reshuffle in the top and middle ranks of the Tripura police with three superintendents of police (SP) being relocated. Bhanupada Chakraborty, the former SP of North Tripura who was abruptly transferred last month due to communal tensions in the district last month, will now be attached to the police headquarters. 

However, the order from the home department did not specify a new post for Chakraborty, leaving him in a state of "awaiting posting".

Avinash Rai has been appointed as the new SP of North Tripura, while Mihir Lal Das has been shifted from his current position as SP of Cyber Crime to Dhalai district. 

Eight other middle-ranking police officers have been assigned to various units within the police force.
