Baloch freedom fighters claim total control over Surab city

GLOBAL, June 01, 2025: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) Sunday launched a large-scale armed operation at Surab city in Pakistan claiming complete control over the area. They fighters reportedly targeted key state installations.
The operation lasted over three hours and took over military, administrative and financial facilities, BLA claims. It further claimed to have captured several police personnel, and snatched thirty AK series rifles and other weapons.
The detained personnel were released on conditional concessions based on their Baloch identity, a BLA statement stated. An officer to the rank of Assistant deputy commissioner was detained during the seizure of the deputy commissioner's office and later died owing to health complications.
Western media reported that the the BLA fighters established checkpoints on the Quetta-Karachi and Surab-Gidar highways, further restricting movement in the region. The BLA claims this operation is part of its broader struggle for Baloch national liberation or independence.
