Austria and Malta to be country partners for the Hornbill Festival
UK, Ireland and New Zealand have already inked their participation

REGIONAL, November 19, 2025: After signing agreements with the UK, Ireland and New Zealand, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio alongside representatives from Austria and Malta announced their participation as Country Partners at the forthcoming Hornbill Festival. The announcement took place in New Delhi after meetings with dignitaries.
Reuben Gauci, the High Commissioner of Malta to India, expressed gratitude toward the Nagaland Government for the partnership and anticipated that the event would strengthen ties and foster future collaborations. Dr Gisela Kristoferitsch from the Austrian Embassy indicated that Austria would send trade delegations to explore partnership opportunities during the festival.
Chief Minister Rio highlighted the significance of welcoming Malta and Austria noting their rich histories and cultural contributions, which would enhance Nagaland's celebration as the "Land of Festivals."
He expressed hopes for meaningful collaborations that would deepen connections, promote cultural exchanges and create new partnership avenues. The Hornbill Festival is set to feature not only cultural celebrations but also business roundtables, networking workshops and investment opportunities.
