Assembly polls: Election Commission team in Tripura

Purpose of visit of 2 member delegation is to enquire feasibilities

AGARTALA, November 23 2022: The Election Commission of India has sent a fact checking team to Tripura ahead of assembly elections due in February next. The visiting two officials held back to back meetings Tuesday and Wednesday with security and civil administration officers of the state to gain firsthand knowledge of the preparations.

Districts Magistrates and SPs of the districts also attended meetings and briefed them.

Upon return, the team is expected to submit a report to the commission for issuance of necessary instructions to the state government.

The commission is likely to send a number of delegations to Tripura before declaration of the poll schedule.
