Assam Rifles and Customs department seize huge narcotics
Follow-up to a successful operation conducted on September 29

AGARTALA, October 07, 2025: In a major strike against drug trafficking, the Assam Rifles, in close coordination with the Customs Department launched a well-planned operation in the general area of Singhichhara, Agartala, recently. Acting on intelligence, the joint team intercepted two trucks carrying cement as a cover for trafficking narcotics and recovered 69.61 kilograms of Yaba tablets worth ₹69.61 crore.
Four suspected peddlers were apprehended in connection with this operation. This was a follow-up to a successful operation conducted on September 29, 2025, in Mohanpur, Tripura, the paramilitary force stated in a statement Tuesday.
It said leads and patterns emerging from the earlier seizure were closely monitored resulting in the identification of key smuggling routes and networks operating in the region.
