REGIONAL, August 21, 2025: The office of Chief Secretary of Nagaland in a statement Thursday stated that the governments of Nagaland and Assam have collaborated on an eviction drive to remove illegal immigrants from the Disputed Area Belt (DAB).
However, after the eviction, tensions arose in the border region due to plantation activities carried out by Assam. In response, the Chief Minister of Nagaland and Assam held discussions and reached an agreement that all activities in the DAB, including plantations, will now be jointly undertaken by both states.
This decision demonstrates the commitment of both governments to promoting peace and cooperation in the border areas.
