Another KNF member dies in security operation in Bangladesh
Army is leading the Joint counter insurgency operation in hill districts

SOUTH ASIA, June 26, 2024: A member of the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) was found dead Wednesday during a joint forces operation in Ruma area, Bandarban district. The identity of the deceased remains unknown.
District Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Abdul Karim told Bangladesh news media that the deceased was estimated to be between 25 and 35 years old.
The joint counter insurgency operation was launched by the Bangladesh Army and the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
In recent months, several KNF militants have died in security operations in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, which comprises of three districts including Bandarban. The group claimed to have resorted to militant campaign to demand a separate tribal state within Bangladesh.
