After Assam Rifles police made success in drug seizure
80,000 Yaba tablets valued Rs 2 crore seized on national highway

AGARTALA, November 01, 2024: Staff of the Ambassa Police Station in Dhalai district of Tripura seized 80 thousand Yaba tablets after intercepting a vehicle Friday. The driver of the vehicle was arrested.
Police said the vehicle was searched on the Assam Agartala national highway after it started its journey from Dharmanagar in north Tripura. The market value of the recovered Yaba tablets is estimated at Rs 2 crore.
A case has been registered under the NDPS Act. Police are quizzing the driver to get into details of the drug consignment and track down other peddlers involved in the crime.
Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha took to social media to laud police. He wrote: “Great job by Ambassa Police for seizing 80,000 YABA tablets worth ₹2 CRORE. Acting on secret info, Ambassa PS detained a vehicle & arrested a driver. From where the recovery is made. Case under NDPS Act has been registered. Congratulations to Ambassa Police for their constant efforts against“.
